One freezing morning I've tried a little harder to unlock my VW Polo 1.0, year 1999, and heard something broke (or a similar sound) on the driver's door. Since then the lock was spinning freely but still working. About a week later I was unable to lock the car on that side. No problems on the passenger door.

I'm a new owner of an used Mazda 6 v6 3.0 automatic. It was bought at a dealership when they were having an as is auction for $1000.
